DARREN LYNDE MANN
“I want to be able to paint emotions I feel and that people can relate to, I want to create impact and power with my work”.
Darren is inspired by the Renaissance painters and his modern influence is from Bacon and Freud. But most of all, Darren is an artist who throws his inner self into each painting. When discussing his work he comes to life when the question arises of how he feels when painting. His work is all about unguided emotion and reflects the inner turmoil of his feelings. There is a rawness and naivety in the creative process. Hand made canvases are irregular and appear old and damaged. Mark-making is equally rough and seemingly distorted but also very deliberate as detail appears from an ethereal background. What you get with every painting is the essence of the artist and a strong connection to feelings that resonate.
